What does Intentional Compassionate Community look like?

At the Reformed Church of Highland Park Affordable Housing Corporation, we understand that, in order for vulnerable populations to thrive, they must first have a literal and figurative firm foundation in the form of safe and affordable housing, as well as support services that set them on a path of self-sufficiency and peace of mind.  We walk alongside individuals and families to help them achieve this goal.

It’s that time of year again!  We have started collecting school supplies and will continue through the end of September.  Can you help?  If you and/or your organization can contribute, please refer to the flyer for details.  You can download a copy here, and feel free to pass this along to others that might also be able to help.  As always, we thank you for your generosity!

Dr. Bowe and the NJ ACLU Join 53 Plaintiffs in Nationwide Action Against ICE and DHS

In recent days Dr. Norma Bowe has brought attention to the staggering violence of the current Administration’s detention and deportation system. Many of you know the work of Dr. Bowe and her team that operate the Global Grace Health Mobile Clinic. On Memorial Day weekend, Dr. Bowe tried to help a woman who had been grabbed by her shirt (which ripped and left her with only her bra) and thrown to the ground by ICE agents.  Dr. Bowe was aggressively shoved to the pavement, sustaining injuries to her head, face and knee that still linger well into the Summer.

We invite you to read the articles and watch the clips of the bold stand Dr. Bowe is taking to call out violence by our government.

If you’d like to support the work of our Mobile Clinic, and stand with Dr. Bowe, please consider making a donation here, and make sure to ‘designate’ Global Grace Health.

Please feel free to pass this flyer on to community partners (faith-based groups, healthcare providers, etc), and local government agencies, who may know refugees who could benefit from these services.
Flyers are available for download in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole.
